Working with music involves a lot of things; teamwork, technical ability, the ability to listen and also individual skills.
Working in partnership
If you choose to take part in Music and Studio this will provide you with a year where you can develop your own abilities as a musician/singer, sound technician and also your music appreciation skills.
We work a lot with teamwork – both on stage and in the studio. We place an emphasis on understanding the links between making music and recording techniques. As we use a lot of time developing teamwork, it is preferable that you have a main instrument, either vocal or another musical instrument.
During the year we will be working on several recording session projects in the schools own studio as well as a visit to a professional recording studio. In addition to this there will also be in-house concerts to prepare for and other opportunities for ensemble work.
Our study trip is to New York, where we can see the sights of this city, attend a concert or a musical. Our flight to USA includes a stopover in Reykjavik, where we can sample the music scene in Iceland.
